Apostle David Watkins began to feel in his heart that God was about to move in an unusual way. He asked specific families to pray and seek God's will about a possible move from the midwest to the west coast. While praying and also seeking God's will concerning this mighty wave, the spirit impressed upon Apostle David's heart that the churches both in Chicago and Detroit would relocate to San Diego, California. These churches were established under the Dora Chara Miracle Ministries (DCM). The saints made their exodus from the A.M.E. church denomination. This move would fulfill the vision that God had given to the DCM ministry. It was at that time that Apostle David commissioned Minister Renee to journey to Detroit and Chicago carrying the Word of the Lord, "Either, He is God or He is not!"

This message was proclaimed to prepare the saints hearts for a mighty wave of God. The men, women and children in Detroit and Chicago began preparing themselves for a great move of God. There were prayer services and cries unto the Lord. It was then that all felt the urgency to begin to prepare for the " Wave of God".
In order for the vision to be fulfilled, these churches would need to relocate to California. There were meetings to discuss the legitimate concerns of the people of God. The saints began to make trips to San Diego to secure housing and to apply for jobs. The wave began to grow and God's people began to move by faith and not by sight.
The church buildings that had been purchased in both cities were sold. All the furnishings were packed up and relocated to San Diego. The saints began selling homes and possessions to provide the finances to move across country. Airplane, bus, and train tickets were purchased as the people were obedient to the Holy vision. Prophecies began to come forth that God's people would be blessed three and four fold for the sacrifice that they made to obey God. This prophecy has come to pass!
The families transitioned to San Diego one by one. More than 80 families decided to relocate in obedience to this move of God. Temporary transitional housing was established to make the move to the west coast as smooth as possible. The first arriving families became the welcoming saints that greeted the others as they arrived. Family after family made the transition to California successfully with praise reports and testimonies of how God had made a way out of no way. It was during this time as the saints transition to the west coast, that our nation was hit by the attack on the twin towers in New York on 9/11. The saints rallied in prayer and with thanksgiving in their hearts and never wavering, continued to make the transition to fulfilled the vision at a time when our country was experiencing such a desperate need for God.
The worship began in Jamul, California in the home of Apostle David Watkins and Grace Covenant Christian Church of the Harvest was established. As more families arrived, a small store front property in Spring Valley was acquired. Anointed praise and worship quickly led to an outgrowing of this facility which led Grace Covenant to relocated to a larger church in Santee, California. The church drew families from throughout the area and once again God began to grow the congregation and the search for a larger facility began that would allow for the vision of our ministry to carried out to it's fullness.
Grace Covenant Christian Church was able by God's wonderful grace to purchase the present location at 2885 Clay Ave. in San Diego. It is in this building where the spirit of God has exploded under the awesome anointed leadership of Senior Pastor David Watkins. Many families have been saved, born again and spirit filled. Day by day lives are being transformed by the anointing of God. Our church is filled with persons of a diverse ethnic blend and with hearts that burn to preach the unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ and where we believe that GOD IS OVER ALL
